#LoveOpera

Streetwise Opera and Royal Northern Sinfonia request the honour of your presence at our Tyneside wedding party. Love in all its different guises will be put under the spotlight as the bride, groom, best man and even a long lost cousin break out in song and tell their tale.

This immersive opera features Benjamin Britten’s cabaret song Tell Me The Truth About Love with words by W.H. Auden. New music is being created by composers Will Todd and Anna Appleby, with local songs including Jimmy Nail’s Big River and Bridie Jackson’s Final Lullaby.

Tell Me The Truth About Love is directed by Olivier Award-winning director Bijan Sheibani and designed by Linbury Prize-winning designer Samal Blak, with writing and dramaturgy by Meriel Sheibani-Clare. Celebrating Streetwise Opera’s 15th anniversary, the production will be performed by adults from Streetwise Opera Newcastle/Gateshead who have experienced, or are at risk of, homelessness, alongside musicians from Royal Northern Sinfonia.
