Abigail Kelly is an opera singer, vocal coach, workshop leader and director born and raised in Birmingham. She graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with a first class honours degree finishing her studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (PGDipOpera).

Abigail’s operatic roles include Pamina – The Magic Flute by Mozart (OperaUpClose) and Ninetta,- La gazza ladra by Rossini (Midland Opera). For English Touring Opera, Abigail has performed a variety of roles including Susanna – The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart, First Boy – The Magic Flute, Despina – Così fan tutte by Mozart, Naiad – Rusalka, and Cobweb – A Midsummer Night & Dream by Britten.

Abigail performs in and directs operas written for children and SEND audiences. As a workshop leader she regularly facilitates for Welsh National Opera, Birmingham Opera Company, English National Opera, English Touring Opera, Royal Opera House and of course Streetwise Opera.

In 2022 she directed the opera How to Find Your Name, an opera for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities and in 2023 another children’s opera called The Wish Gatherer. Abigail has also directed the Turtle Opera Birmingham projects creating operas with children on the autism spectrum.
