Fingers on buzzers please! We are proud to present Streetwise Opera’s Big Virtual Quiz with Alan Cumming on Wednesday 6 May in support of our work with people affected by homelessness.

Please welcome our very own master of ceremonies: international star of the stage, film and television, Alan Cumming! Our quiz has been put together by a crack team led by none other than Dominic Carter, Game of Thrones‘ Janos Slynt himself. Together, they will broadcast five rounds of the UK’s finest general knowledge questions straight into your home.

Put your team to the test and tune in to the live broadcast from our Facebook page on Wednesday 6 May at 7:00pm.

If your teammates don’t have access to Facebook, don’t worry! They can join us on Zoom by registering here, and we’ll send them further information.

First and foremost, we want people to have fun, but If you can make a donation to help our charity through these uncertain times we would be very grateful.

Since 2002, Streetwise Opera has provided vital support for people affected by homelessness, through music and the arts. Right now, our beneficiaries are even more isolated and vulnerable. They are lonely and scared for their health; and key services such as training, mental health support and social activities have disappeared overnight.

Our work has changed, but it hasn’t stopped: we are running daily online music workshops, digital tea breaks and keeping in touch with beneficiaries by phone. We need your help to do more: we are now preparing creative postal packs to keep people supported and connected. Donate here to help us pay for simple costs such as printing, packaging and postage

“I’m completely self-isolating, not going out at all, because my asthma is so bad. This contact with old friends and new, is great. There’s something lovely about knowing we’re all singing the same lines, at the same time; even though I’m having no contact with anyone at the moment, it makes me feel less alone. Streetwise Opera makes a big difference to my life, such as it is at the moment. You are very, very special to more people than you could ever know.” — Streetwise Opera participant
