Join Streetwise Opera for this classic cycling challenge and ride 51 miles from London to Cambridge in support of people affected by homelessness.
Whether you’re a keen beginner looking for an excuse to get into training, or an experienced cyclist seeking a personal best, this is the perfect opportunity to spin away the cobwebs of lockdown! At Streetwise we invite people affected by homelessness to challenge themselves by singing and performing; now we’re challenging you to cycle like you’ve never cycled before, and show your solidarity and support for our work.
From London (West Finchley), we shall ride out to the fringes of the city and into the beautiful countryside of Hertfordshire and Essex, via some quintessentially British countryside towns and villages, before the final approach into Cambridge.
The experienced team at Adventure Café will support the bike ride from beginning ‘til end. We will have a support vehicle with experienced mechanical staff and qualified first aiders, and we will provide snacks, water and a light lunch at three manned stops.
Join the challenge, support Streetwise Opera and help make a difference to the lives of people affected by homelessness. We can’t wait to see you at the finish line, where we will celebrate your great success with our trademark operatic gusto!
Meet at 9.00am in West Finchley for the ride briefing
Expected finish between 2 and 4pm (dependent on rider fitness levels)

How you will make a difference to people’s lives:
Your support will enable us to continue to offer creative opportunities to people affected by homelessness in these extremely challenging times. Having nowhere to call home – especially during a pandemic – can be traumatic, leading to chronic social isolation, poor mental and physical health and lack of autonomy.
At Streetwise Opera we offer singing, creative and performing opportunities – digitally, via phone and post – that allow people to forget about their problems and focus on what they can do. Our work puts participants’ talent centre stage, and enables them to develop confidence, self-worth and skills.
Right now, people affected by homelessness need your support more than ever; we face a spike in homelessness over the next few months and it is critical that we continue to support the wellbeing and combat the isolation of those most in need.
