Streetwise Opera joins English Touring Opera for this production of The Silver Lake – A Winter’s Tale (Der Silbersee), German composer Kurt Weill’s masterpiece.
Banned by the Nazi authorities in 1933 and not performed for many years, this is a piece about those who are left behind.
Conducted by James Holmes, and directed by ETO’s James Conway, The Silver Lake promises to be a compelling night in the theatre, with astonishing music.
This is one of two performances that participants from Streetwise Opera’s workshops at London’s Southbank Centre will take part in. The other one is on 7 October.
Participants from Streetwise Opera’s workshops in Nottingham and Newcastle Gateshead will also take part in performances with ETO at Buxton Opera House on 12 October and Gala Theatre in Durham on 19 October.
