Everything that can go wrong will go wrong during the Mills’ Christmas dinner. Guests get stuck in traffic, someone forgets to bring the turkey, Grandad misplaces his false teeth, and mum’s about to lose it because the kids just won’t stop squabbling! Is there still any happiness in store for the family this Christmas? Join Streetwise Opera for this joyful operatic experience peppered with Christmas classics to find out.
With music and lyrics inspired by Leonard Bernstein’s satirical opera Trouble In Tahiti, the show is created by participants in Streetwise Opera’s weekly workshops at The Bridgewater Hall, alongside composer Emily Levy, and vocal leaders Jonathan Ainscough and Sarah Atter. It’ll keep you on your toes, inspire you to sing along and remind you that Christmas should be a time of kindness and generosity. After the performance, please join Streetwise performers for light refreshments.
Streetwise Opera is an arts company that uses singing and creativity to inspire and empower people recovering from homelessness. We run an exciting programme of performing arts projects in London, Manchester and Nottingham.
