We are pleased to announce that Lucy Perman MBE has agreed to step in as Interim CEO of Streetwise Opera from September 2021, while the company recruits a permanent Chief Executive Officer.
Lucy gained the admiration and respect of the arts and social justice sectors, and beyond, during her 21-year tenure as CEO of Clean Break, an acclaimed theatre company working with women in the criminal justice system. Lucy has an impressive track record in the charity and cultural sectors, and we are thankful for her support in this transitional period.
Cathy Graham OBE, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said:
“These are very exciting times for Streetwise Opera, as we relaunch our creative programme and develop new and stronger partnerships with arts and homelessness organisations in London, Manchester and Nottingham. We are confident that Lucy’s leadership will have a powerful positive impact during this interim period, while we plan the artistic programme for our 20th anniversary in 2022.”
About Streetwise Opera
Streetwise Opera is an arts organisation working with the homeless sector to inspire change and empower people to realise their own creative potential. We aim to transform lives by supporting people to make meaningful connections through the arts, rebuild social networks, improve wellbeing and develop new skills.
We engage world-class artists to collaborate with diverse individuals affected by homelessness to create powerful works of art, and to positively impact how society views homelessness. And we use the arts to explore and innovate how homeless services can be best designed for individuals.
