By Benjamin Britten
World premiere staging at New College, Oxford

About this production

Participants from Streetwise Opera workshops in five Oxford homeless centres performed alongside New College Choir, Oxford in a new staging of Britten’s Ceremony of Carols. The project involved turning the tables on the haves and have-nots in a city whose poverty is often hidden by high art and affluence and put homeless performers centre-stage in a professional opera.
