The London Walk 2024

On the evening of Friday 22 March 2024 we are taking part in the London Walk, organised by the London Homeless Collective. This walk brings charities working in homelessness in the city together to walk as one, with every step powering the journey towards brighter tomorrows.

There will be three routes available: a 10K, a half marathon and a marathon through Central London. All routes start and finish at St Martin’s-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar Square, close to many major transport links.

Walking through the night offers an opportunity for reflection on the experience of people who are homeless. Not just people who are forced to sleep on the streets but those who walk through the night, travel on night buses or access 24 hour retail sites in order to stay awake and stay safe. In particular young people, trans people and women, who are all especially vulnerable to violence and exploitation.

• Friday 22 March 2024
• Marathon, half marathon or 10k night walk
• Start at 8pm
• 10km should finish around 11:00pm
• Half marathon should finish around 1:00am
• Marathon should finish around 5:00am
• The walk starts and ends at St Martin’s-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar Square
• Participation is free (registration fee covered by Streetwise Opera)
• The suggested fundraising target is £1,000, but there is no required minimum – we will be grateful for whatever participants are able to raise
