At Streetwise Opera we believe that only through artistic excellence can our work achieve a meaningful social impact, and we are now looking for a full-time Artistic Director who shares our passion and commitment, and who is willing to take on the challenge of using the arts to inspire and empower people recovering from homelessness.
The Artistic Director will provide artistic vision and, together with our newly appointed CEO, leadership and strategic direction, while leading the artistic team to create and deliver work that is ambitious and imaginative.
We are looking for someone who can provide an inspiring vision for working with the homelessness sector in a creative way; articulate what artistic excellence looks like and formulate an artistic progression route to ensure the quality of our work is consistent with our ambitions.
This is an exciting time to join Streetwise Opera, as we launch our 2021-25 Strategy – Creating Together, which prioritises co-creation of ambitious work that challenges perceptions of people who are homeless, innovating artistic practice and establishing new partnerships in the homelessness sector, and diversity and inclusion.
We are an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation (2018-22), we were chosen as one of the Big Issue’s Top 100 Changemakers 2020, and we’ve been recognised by the Royal Philharmonic Society for “vibrantly empowering people who are homeless, with astounding results”.
As an employer, Streetwise Opera offers a range of benefits including professional development and training opportunities, time off for volunteering, and season ticket loans. You will be joining a friendly, committed and supportive staff team and have the opportunity to make a real difference to our ambitious and life-changing work.
