Are you a highly motivated, organised person with a passion both for the arts, and making a difference in the lives of people affected by homelessness? Streetwise Opera is looking for a dedicated and motivated Arts Administrator to join the team.

Streetwise Opera is an award-winning performing arts charity for people affected by homelessness. It runs a programme of free singing and creative workshops delivered weekly in homeless centres and arts venues in five regions across England. It is also a critically-acclaimed opera company that empowers the people who take part in its workshops to create and perform in extraordinary new productions working alongside exceptional professional artists.

Recent productions include The Passion at Manchester’s Campfield Market in 2016 (“A beautiful retelling of the most enduring story of redemption”, The Times ★★★★★), and Tell Me The Truth About Love at Sage Gateshead in 2018 (“A powerful and inspiring show”, The Guardian ★★★★). In November 2019, Streetwise Opera announced After Winter, a new major production featuring baritone Roderick Williams and others.

You will be a highly motivated and organised person who is interested in developing a career in arts administration. You will have had experience of working in an office in an administrative role. You will have excellent organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, strong written English, and a knowledge of Excel spreadsheets. You will have an interest in learning bookkeeping and database administration.

Working across the company and reporting to the General Manager, the Arts Administrator is integral to the day-to-day running of our office. Though the role is primarily office-based, it also offers occasional opportunities to assist with workshops and events.
