London

In July and August 2021, we are once again running weekly singing and creative workshops at the Southbank Centre.

These free sessions, open to anyone with experience of homelessness, are a great opportunity to sing and have fun, explore exciting stories and characters, and meet new people.

For eight weeks from 7 July to 25 August, we will deliver an artistic project led by director Emma Bernard, that will culminate in a 10-minute piece of new opera, drawing on the themes of The City: the people, the characters, the landscapes, the stories, as well as operatic repertoire including Bizet’s Carmen and Bernstein’s West Side Story.

The Streetwise Opera group in London has performed at the Royal Festival Hall, The Royal Opera House, The V&A Museum, The Design Museum and other venues and events.
